　高鐵票價預計10月8日起調漲，高鐵指出，調漲後增加早鳥票及大學生優惠班次，還推出「熟齡優惠」。另外，高鐵計畫年底前在所有列車增設AED（傻瓜電擊器），若旅客在列車上休克，就能掌握黃金搶救時間。

　高鐵表示，10月8日起每周早鳥優惠班次達790班，約占總班次數的85％，其中432班次提供65折優惠，調漲後約有77％班次的65折早鳥票目前已售完。

　另依衛生署統計，台灣每年有2萬人突然休克，送院前失去心跳。國寶級演奏家「番王」王吉宣2011年在表演中昏倒，經心肺復甦術（CPR）及電擊即時挽救性命，國內公共場所需設置AED的問題浮上台面，不少公共場所相繼設置。

　高鐵8個車站皆設置1到2台AED，還有包括卡通列車在內的2輛新車設有AED，由於不時有旅客身體不適，高鐵今年底前所有列車將全面設置AED。
